EVALUASI STATUS KESUBURAN TANAH PODSOLIK MERAH KUNING PADA BEBERAPA DESA DI KABUPATEN KOTAWARINGIN BARAT, KALIMANTAN TENGAH

ABSTRACT

Study on soil fertility status was carried out in 10 villages from 5 districts in Kotawaringin Barat Regency, Central Kalimantan. The purpose of study was to determine Podsolik Merah Kuning soil chemistry and fertility status in this study area.  Soil sampling and laboratory analysis was carried out in this study.  The result of the study show that cation exchange capacity of Podsolik Merah Kuning was from low to high, base saturation was low, organic carbon content was from low to high, available-P was from low to hight, available-K was low and soil reaction (pH) was from very acid to acid. In general, soil fertility status was low with limiting fertility factor, base saturation and available-K was low. Several soil samples indicated that limiting fertility factor were cation exchange capacity, organic carbon content and available-P.

ABSTRAK

Penelitian tentang status kesuburan tanah telah dilakukan pada 10 (sepuluh) desa yang tersebar di 5 (lima) kecamatan di Kabupaten Kotawaringin Barat, Propinsi Kalimantan Tengah. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui karakter kimia dan status kesuburan tanah Podsolik Merah Kuning di wilayah tersebut. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pengambilan sampel tanah di lapangan yang dilanjutkan dengan analisis tanah di laboratorium. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tanah Podsolik Merah Kuning yang diambil dari lokasi studi  memiliki kapasitas tukar kation (KTK) bervariasi dari rendah hingga tinggi,  kejenuhan basa (KB) rendah, karbon C-organik bervariasi dari rendah hingga tinggi, P-tersedia rendah hingga tinggi, K-tersedia rendah dan reaksi tanah sangat masam hingga masam. Secara umum status kesuburan tanahnya tergolong rendah dengan faktor pembatas kesuburan berupa rendahnya KB dan rendahnya K-tersedia, serta untuk beberapa sampel tanah juga memiliki faktor pembatas kesuburan tanah berupa KTK, C-organik dan P-tersedia yang rendah.
