PENGARUH NAUNGAN DAN POPULASI TANAMAN TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN DAN HASIL TANAMAN KANGKUNG DARAT (Ipomea sp)

(The Effect of Shading and Plant Population on The Growth and Yield of Ipomea sp)

ABSTRACT

This research purposed to know the effect of shading and population and plant interaction of growth and yield of Ipoema sp. Project that used in this research is Separated Compartment Project (Split Plot Design). The primary treatment was shading level (0, 25, 55 and 85%) an as the squares were plant population level (25, 50, and 100 plants m-2). Everyplant were repeated as many as three times. Result of experiment shown if shading level which heavier caused decreasing of branch number per plant, leaf area index, and weight of marketable part per m-2 and total weight of upper part plant on the ground, so it caused increasing lenght of plant. When, the shading level was 85% caused decreasing fresh cut weight per m-2 as many as 97.72, 88.20 and 89.90% everyplants when harvest time I, II, III ( first until third harvest) of control. And then, population increasing from 25 plants per m2 up to 100 plants per m-2, it didn’t have real effect of fresh cut weight. Fresh cut weight was consumable in more numbers with strived plants without shading and population number were 50 plants per m2. For gave the optimal yield, so Ipoema sp were strived to unshading.

ABSTRAK

Penenlitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh naungan dan populasi serta interaksi tanaman terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman kangkung darat (Ipomea sp). Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Petak Terpisah (Split Plot Design).  Perlakuan utama adalah tingkat naungan (0, 25, 55 dan 85%) dan sebagai anak petak adalah tingkat populasi tanaman (25, 50 dan 100 tanaman m-2). Masing-masing diulang sebanyak 3 kali. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa tingkat naungan yang lebih berat menyebabkan pengurangan terhadap jumlah cabang per tanaman, indeks luas daun, hasil pangkasan segar m-2, serta total berat bagian tanaman di atas tanah sehingga menyebabkan peningkatan terhadap panjang tanaman. Pada tingkat naungan 85% menyebabkan pengurangan hasil pangkasan segar m-2 sebesar 92.72, 88.20 dan 89.80% masing-masing pada panen I, II dan III terhadap kontrol.  Sedangkan peningkatan populasi dari 25 tanaman m-2 menjadi 100 tanaman m-2 tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap hasil pangkasan segar.  Hasil pangkasan segar dapat dikonsumsi dalam jumlah lebih banyak dengan mengusahakan tanaman tanpa naungan dan jumlah populasi 50 tanaman m-2. Untuk memberikan hasil yang optimal, maka tanaman kangkung darat diupayakan tidak dinaungi.
